This study addresses cybersecurity challenges in Pakistan’s growing Internet banking sector, where increasing digital transactions expose vulnerabilities to sophisticated fraud. Using a survey of 350 account holders, the research validates a four-layer Cyber Defense Framework aimed at protecting personal financial data. Results highlight gaps in user awareness, security practices, and trust, emphasizing the need for robust, adaptive cybersecurity measures. The proposed framework offers practical guidance for banks and regulators to enhance system resilience and legal protections, providing a tailored strategy to safeguard Pakistan’s digital banking ecosystem.
